To get a better look at what is going on inside everything from cats to Great Danes, often the veterinary staff needs to see radiographs (commonly called X-Rays). Radiographs are helpful for evaluating a variety of medical conditions; but are absolutely vital in evaluating bone and joint problems. Radiographs are also useful for evaluating those pets that are lethargic, vomiting, or coughing. The radiograph picture can be taken, processed on film by our technician staff, and be ready for evaluation at any of the viewing stations located in our examination rooms, dental room, or surgery room in a matter of minutes. Having an on-site radiology unit and film processor allows our doctor staff to reach diagnoses quickly and begin treatment promptly. |

If further investigation is required we will occasionally request an ultrasound or echocardiogram (heart viewing) procedure. These procedures are very similar to those that pregnant women undergo to produce images of children inside the womb. An ultrasound provides the doctor with more information and better imaging for certain disorders. |
